(AP) — It's Hollywood's biggest night --the Academy Awards. "Argo" won the Oscar for best picture.
Ang Lee won best director for his "Life of Pi." Quentin Tarantino won the Original Screenplay Oscar for "Django Unchained."
Chris Terrio won the Adapted Screenplay award for "Argo." Jennifer Lawrence won the leading actress Oscar for "Silver Linings Playbook."
And Daniel Day Lewis won best actor for his portrayal of Abraham Lincoln.
Anne Hathaway won the Academy Award for best supporting actor for her teary, show-stopping performance in "Les Miserables."
Christoph Waltz won best supporting actor from the Academy Awards for his performance as a refined bounty hunter in Quentin Tarantino's outlandish slavery epic "Django Unchained."
Fairport native Andrea Nix Fine and her husband, Sean, won best documentary short subject film for Inocente.
Also,three RIT alumni played roles in "Life of Pi" taking home the Oscar for Best Visual Effects.
Scott Vosbury, Rich Enders and Jen Stratton helped create the digital version of the tiger in the film.
