(Hollywood Reporter) Six of the nine Academy Award best picture nominees -- Argo, Beasts of the Southern Wild, Django Unchained, Les Miserables, Lincoln and Silver Linings Playbook -- were shot on Kodak film.

 That according to the Hollywood Reporter publication which notes that Kodak filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in early 2012, and in the process gave up its naming rights to the Hollywood & Highland theater where the Academy Awards are held (now the Dolby Theatre).

Andrew Evenski, president and general manager of Kodak’s entertainment and commercial films group, pointed out in a released statement that “so many talented filmmakers continue to choose Kodak technology to tell their stories and create extraordinary images.”


Additionally, three of the five nominees for best cinematography—Anna Karenina, Django Unchained and Lincoln—were photographed using Kodak film.
