The Henrietta Fire District has agreed to provide fire coverage to West Brighton. That announcement from Brighton Supervisor Bill Moehle who says Henrietta's fire department has an excellent reputation and he says this lan will provide the best possible service for West Brighton while still being cost effective.
The Brighton Town Board will vote on the plan February 27th. There will also be a public hearing on April 10th to get feedback from the community.
The Rochester fire department will continue to provide fire protection and EMS service until this transition is completed which should happen in the summer or early fall.
The Town of Brighton is still involved in litigation with the West Brighton Fire Department and the town has asked a judge to order West Brighton to turn over the fire station on West Henrietta Road and other equipment.
