The annual Drive for Miracles radiothon to benefit the Golisano Children’s Hospital is over, and it beat its goal. The two-day event held on WHAM 1180 and 100.5 The Drive (WDVI-FM) raised $217,688 as of Friday night, topping its goal of $215,000.

The amount raised is about three times last year’s total. The event was broadcast on Thursday and Friday from the lobby of Strong Hospital, and it featured many of the radio hosts of the two stations as well as doctors from the hospital and people from our community whose lives have been touched by the care provided by Golisano Children’s Hospital.

All of the money raised stays in the community, and this year, the money will help fund the construction of a new building for the children’s hospital, as well as help pay for other expenses at the hospital.

Over the last decade, the annual Drive for Miracles has raised over one million dollars.
