Orleans County deputies are investigating an incident where two people were bitten by their own dog.

Deputies say a Town of Ridgeway man had to be taken to the hospital after he was bit by his family's dog, a two and a half year old male pit bull terrier.

Authorities say that 30 year old Brian Adams was bitten when he got into an argument with his wife, 38 year old Kristi Adams.

Adams was bitten in the arm and face and was treated at a Buffalo hospital and released. Kristi Adams had some bite wounds to her arm when she tried to get the dog away from her husband, but she refused medical attention.

The Adams' 11 year old daughter was also home at the time of the incident. She made the call to 911. Deputies say the dog was not licensed but does have a current rabies vaccination.

It is being held at the county animal shelter.
