Rochester has another mayoral candidate. Alex White, a local businessman, says he will seek the endorsement of the Green Party.

White ran unsuccesfully in that 2011 special election that was won by the current Mayor, Democrat Tom Richards. Richards announced last week he will be running this November.

White also tried to run in 2009, but got knocked off the ballot after the Democratic Party challenged his petitions.

White feels there are a lot of issues to be addressed including a rising poverty rate, a low school graduattion rate, and he's also unhappy with some of the tax breaks given to developers.
