A Dansville Police Officer is recovering after suffering a concussion over the weekend.
State Police say the officer was punched in the head by a 15 year old boy.
It happened early Sunday morning when Dansville Police and Livingston County Deputies were called to a report of a 15 year old who was out of control in a vehicle that was parked at a truck stop off Exit 5 on Route 390 in Dansville.
When police arrived, they saw the boy biting and hitting his aunt. As the Dansville officer tried to get the boy out of the car, he was punched in the head and suffered a concussion.
The officer was treated at the hospital and released. The boy and his aunt were both taken to the hospital for evaluation. Authorities determined that the 15 year old had taken bath salts which was the cause of his violent behavior.
Police say charges are pending.
