A former Greece Police officer has been denied parole. Gary Pignato is currently serving a two to six year sentence, after being convicted of coercing a woman into sex. He has been in prison since 2009.
In its decision, the parole board said it remains concerned about Pignato having targeted vulnerable female victims and it says he needs to use his time behind bars to gain insight into his behavior and what he needs to do to become a law abiding citizen.
The next earliest date Pignato could be released is June 5th. Pignato was also denied parole in 2011. He is in the Gowanda Correctional Facility in Erie County with no disciplinary incidents on file.
