As predicted, the heavier snow arrived by midday, and with it a number of accidents all over the area.

There are no reports of serious injuries, but a number of cars off the road.  State Police advise you adjust your speed accordingly and say if you do find yourself off the highway, stay with your vehicle until help arrives.

Western New York is under a Winter Storm warning through early Saturday morning.

2-6” of snow will be possible for the daylight hours Friday, with much of that coming in the afternoon. The high will reach the lower 30s.

Snow and lake enhanced snow will continue Friday night with additional accumulation likely, especially north of the Thruway. Another 3-6" of snow could fall during this time.

Many areas will receive between 5-12 inches by Saturday morning with the greatest snowfall totals near Lake Ontario.

Any lake snow showers will taper early Saturday with some sunny breaks returning.
Saturday’s high will only be in the lower 20s. 

Sunday becomes mostly sunny and warmer with a high in the mid to upper 30s.
