Kodak has filed papers with the Securities and Exchange Commission seeking to move one of the deadlines in the process of emerging from Chapter 11.
Currently the company is required to file a plan by February 15th. It wants to extend that to April 30th. When Kodak filed for Chapter 11 a year ago, it initially had until May 18th to file a reorganization plan. But the company has received extensions on that deadline, noting the complexity of the plan.
A Kodak spokesman says that regardless of the date of the filing of a plan of reorganization, it still plans to emerge from bankruptcy mid-year. And the company says it is also ahead in some aspects of the plan, particularly in terms of some of the financing.
Also in Monday's filing, Kodak said it expects to wrap up the sale of digital patents on February 1st.
