The State Attorney General has announced the arrests of five people in Rochester in connection with a ring involving the selling of prescription narcotics.

Officials say that the ringleader was Shantel Williams, who was an office manager at a local doctor's office, She is accused of illegally writing prescriptions for the painkiller Oxycontin.

Authorities say that Stacy Clark, Jessica Connolly, and two sisters, Anestacia and Bettina Wilson were also involved in the scam.

They are accused of using the fradulent prescriptions and their Medicaid benefit cards to get the drugs. Those drugs could later be sold on the street. Officials say that the scheme costs the state thousands of dollars in losses.

The U.S. Attorney's office is also involved in the investigation.
