The lake effect snow warning for the Rochester area was cancelled early Wednesday morning, although there is still a chance for some generally light accumulation during the day. There is a lake snow advisory until 1pm on Wednesday.
From Tuesday into Wednesday, areas along the lakeshore got pummeled in spots, mainly north of Route 104, with near white-out conditions in places on Tuesday night.
Lake effect snow will continue in the bitter cold air for Wednesday. Most areas will find around 2" of snow with higher totals possible in any persistent lake snow areas. The high will only be near 15 with sub zero wind chills continuing. Expect more lake snow showers Wednesday night with additional accumulation possible in sustained lake snow areas. Wednesday night's low will be near 8.
A few sunny breaks return with some flurries on Thursday. The high will be near 18. Steady area-wide snow will develop Friday with a high in the mid 20s.
