The U-S Attorney’s office says that a 40 year old East Rochester man has pleaded guilty to growing marijuana. Authorities say that when they searched a residence on Noridge Drive in Irondequoit, they recovered 276 pot plants as well as other equipment used to grow the marijuana. Officials say Christopher Monfort admitted to using that residence to grow pot.

He also faces federal charges on a separate matter. Authorities say that in 2009, Monfort pleaded guilty to burglarizing a railcar. That involved the theft of more than 67 tons of scrap metal from railcars at a CSX railroad yard in Batavia.

Sentencing for both crimes is scheduled for March.
