A Rochester Police officer was involved in an accident when  a cruiser crashed into a utility pole Thursday night.

The crash happened just after 10 p.m. at the intersection of Danorth and Child Streets.

The officer was not seriously hurt in the crash.

The outage did knock out power to a few homes in the area. Rochester Gas and Electric crews worked late into the night to restore power.

Rochester Police said that road conditions were slick Thursday night, and  led to several accidents. Roads were still slippery for the Friday morning commute, and there is a lake snow advisory in effect for parts of Monroe, Orleans and Niagara Counties until Noon on Friday.
