Pittsford's Abby Wambach will be playing soccer in Rochester again, and it will be for more than just an exhibition match.

The new National Women's Soccer League announced on Friday where the various players will be assigned, and Wambach will be playing for the Western New York Flash.  That team is based near Buffalo, but has played their home games in Rochester.

The other American player assigned to the Flash is midfielder Carli Lloyd, who scored the winning goal in the 2008 and 2012 Olympics.

Wambach's stellar career was just highlighted this week as she was named FIFA World Player of the Year.

The Flash will play 11 home games in Rochester, with the season starting in April.
