(AP)  Police say a Central Texas teenager has been charged in the fatal shooting of a Fort Hood soldier who was attacked outside a convenience store. The victim, Specialist Austin  Sampson, is from Bliss in Wyoming County.

Police in Killeen, Texas have arrested 17-year-old Terry Scott of Killeen in connection with the January 2nd attack. Police did not immediately provide additional information on Scott's jail status or an attorney.

The 25 year old Sampson died last Friday at a hospital in that area. Police say two men who were with Sampson in an SUV were critically wounded by the gunfire in a convenience store parking lot.

Investigators have not announced a possible motive for the shootings.
