Pictometry, the Rochester-based aerial imaging company, is merging with a company based in the state of Washington called EagleView Technologies. EagleView is involved in 3D measurement technologies serving the insurance and construction industries.
Pictometry, based in Henrietta, was founded in 2000, and has more than 300 employees, including about 200 in the Rochester area.
As part of this merger, Pictometry's CEO Rick Hurwitz will leave the business. Officials say that he worked closely with both companies to support the merger.
A statement about the deal says that the new company expects the merger to be seamless for customers as well as the vast majority of the employees of both companies. The new company will have offices in Bothell, Washington and in Rochester, while also maintaining satellite offices in other locations.
