The clothing retailer H & M  is  pulling out of the Rochester market. The  Greece Ridge and Eastview Mall stores will close on January 24th.

A spokeswoman for H & M tells WHAM 1180 News that they have 17 workers at Eastview and 14 at Greece Ridge. She says all of the employees will be given options to relocate to comparable jobs in stores in the surrounding area, or in other parts of the U.S.

The company says that after considering several options, closing the stores was the best business decision, but H  & M says it continues to look to expand in the U.S. this year.

A statement from Wilmorite, which owns the local malls, says that after lengthy negotiations on a lease for the two stores, they were unable to come to an agreement. Wilmorite says it's disappointed with the outcome, but says they are on the way to filling both spots with new retail and entertainment concepts.

H & M is a Sweden-based clothing store known for fashion at affordable prices.
