There were power problems reported at three college campuses in our area.
In one of the outages, R G and E reported nearly 2000 customers out in parts of Rochester and Brighton on Wednesday morning including in areas around Mount Hope Avenue and East Henrietta Road. The utility says it had to do with a problem with a substation, and power was restored by 11a.m.
RIT is reporting that power problems have affected a good portion of their campus. But there are no classes right now, so just staff was affected.
MCC was briefly impacted as well
There is a separate outage affecting the College at Brockport Campus. A spokesman there says it affects the entire Brockport campus, and morning and afternoon classes were canceled. But power was restored in the afternoon, and evening classes WILL be held as scheduled. That campus is served by National Grid.
