The U.S. Senate on Thursday confirmed Monroe County Court Judge Frank Geraci as a federal judge in the Western District of New York.  He was confirmed in a unanimous voice vote.

Geraci will fill a vacancy that dates back to 2009 when Judge David Larimer turned 65 and took senior status.

Geraci has been a county judge since 1998. Before that he was a city court judge, and is also a former prosecutor with both the county and the U.S. Attorney's office.
