Locally-based Sutherland Global Services is expanding. The company is purchasing a healthcare company called Apollo Health Street, reportedly for more than $183 million.

Apollo Health Street is owned by an India-based company called Apollo Hospitals Enterprise, and the purchase will add about 3,000 people to Sutherland's employee base.

Sutherland officials feel the acquisition will position the combined organization as a leading healthcare service provider in the U.S. healthcare market.

Sutherland provides outsourcing services.
