(13-WHAM) A Wayne County man has been arrested and is facing charges in connection with the death of his mother.

The Wayne County Sheriff's Office reports that 50 year old Daniel Burkwit is charged with second-degree manslaughter.

 His mother, Marcia Burkwit, was found dead in a wooded area one mile from her home in late October. Her body was wrapped in a blanket and covered with leaves.

Wayne County officials say that on October 21st or 22nd, a physical altercation took place on Bonnie Castle Road in the Town of Huron, where both mother and son were living. Sources say that Daniel told a neighbor that he found his mother dead at the bottom of the stairs and that he buried her in some leaves in the woods.
