Livingston County deputies say they charged two Livonia residents on multiple counts after an incident that began with shoplifting.
Deputies say it started Thursday when an on-duty investigator saw 33 year old Shantel Nilsson and her boyfriend, 42 year old Manuel Gonzalez, at the Geneseo Walmart stealing a shopping cart full of various items.
The two were leaving the parking lot when deputies signaled them to pull over. Deputies say the two switched drivers during that time, with Nilsson moving over to the driver’s seat.. When the car was stopped, deputies say they found hundreds of dollars of goods in the vehicle, as well as a small amount of heroin and cocaine.
They say that Gonzalez had a revoked license that had been suspended 19 times. He now faces felony aggravated uncliensed operation, as well as petty larceny. Nilsson was arrested on petty larceny and drug charges.
Both were ordered held on bail pending another court appearance.
