Rochester is one of 11 school districts nationwide that are participating in a new initiative designed to increase learning time for thousands of students.
Nearly four thousand students in Rochester will participate in the time collaborative, which will start a year from now.
Rochester is the only district in New York State participating in the initial phase of this pilot program.
Districts involved in the effort will add at least 300 hours of learning time to the calendar. A mixture of state and federal funding will be used to help cover the cost.
