Livingston County deputies say that a Wyoming County man died after an accident early Saturday evening in West Sparta.

They say that when they got to the scene on Green Road, they found a vehicle which had gone off the road and came to rest after hitting a tree stump.

The victim is identified as 66 year old Francis Nicklas of Perry. He was alone in the car, and was pronounced dead at Noyes Hospital.

Deputies say Nicklas had been hunting in the area with friends and had only driven a short distance before he went off the road. Authorities say it appears he may have suffered a medical problem which caused the accident to happen.
