A woman convicted of assaulting a Genesee County Walmart cashier was sentenced to five years in prison Wednesday morning.

23 year old Jacquetta Simmons of Batavia  was found guilty of assault in August. She could have received up to 7 years in prison.

Simmons punched 70-year-old Grace Suozzi in the face on Christmas Eve 2011 after Suozzi asked Simmons to show her shopping receipt.
