Monroe County Deputies have released more information about an incident where a deputy was struck by a suspect's car this morning. It started in West Henrietta when a female deputy was flagged down by the father of 29 year old Stephen Wolde-Tinsaye at their residence on Shadbush Way.

Deputies say Wolde-Tinsaye was trying to take his father's vehicle without permission. A door of the car was open while the deputy questioned the son, and the door struck the deputy, knocking her to the ground. She suffered minor injuries. Wolde-Tinsaye kept driving until the car got wedged between two other vehicles in the area of Jefferson Road and Hylan Drive.

Before that incident, deputies say that Wolde-Tinsaye stole a Best Western shuttle bus that was parked at the hotel on Jefferson Road. Officials say he then tried to rob a woman in the parking lot of a Wilson Farms located at East River and Erie Station Roads. No one was injured.

Wolde-Tinsay is facing multiple charges including assault and attempted robbery.
