Voter turnout was relatively brisk on election day, not a surprise, since a Presidential year usually brings out the biggest turnout.
In Monroe County, the turnout as of 8:00 p.m. was pacing a bit behind the last presidential elections. 72-percent of registered voters had turned out, compared to 75 percent in the last presidential election in 2008 and 73 percent in 2004.
