A former local postal worker has pled guilty to mail theft and tampering.

The U.S. Attorney's  office says that 58 year old Dale Richmond of Williamson worked as a technician at a Rochester mail distribution center.

While working there, officials say he repeatedly opened mail illegally and stole items from that mail.  It  included items such as cash, jewelry, collectible coins and a rare baseball card among other things.

Sentencing is scheduled for next January.
