Police tell 13WHAM they responded to 25 Lincoln Street for a person shot. When they arrived, they found a 26-year old who had been shot in the leg on the sidewalk near the North Street Recreation Center.

The victim was taken to Strong Hospital where he was pronounced dead around 12:30 a.m. 

Rochester Police Major Crimes Unit is actively working the case and is following up on leads.   Anyone with information is asked to contact the Rochester police Department.
