Officials with Rochester Gas and Electric and NYSEG are preparing for any problems that affect power lines from the impact of Hurricane Sandy.
Spokesman Dan Hucko says the planning already started earlier in the week and he says crews and contractors have been alerted so that they can move to whatever area they are needed in.
Officials say to make sure you stay away from downed power lines, because you don't know whether they are live or not.
And they say make sure you have a flashlight, batteries, and a radio, to listen for any updates on the storm.
