Brighton school officials have released more information about the teenager who has been hospitalized since that accident involving a car and a school bus earlier this month.

16 year old Scott Collins was a passenger in that car that slammed into the back of a school bus on Warren Avenue on October 9th. The other three teens in the car were eventually released from the hospital. The statement from the school district says that Collins is breathing on his own but is in need of continued treatment.

He will be undergoing intensive therapy at a specialized facility, and officials say he is at the beginning of what will be a long road to recovery.

The driver of that car, John Zachary, was recently charged with reckless driving, unreasonable speed and other traffic violations.

None of the people on the school bus were injured.
