A Florida man has died after a crash Friday in Phelps. 64 year old  Joseph Spezio was involved in a three car crash on State Rte. 14 around 10 a.m. on Friday.

Ontario County deputies say that Spezio was driving a Subaru sedan and traveling southbound when he crossed over into the northbound lane, sideswiping a tractor trailer driven by Eric Turner.  Turner was not injured in the crash.

After sideswiping Turner, Spezio continued in the northbound lane and crashed head on into an Acura sedan being driven by 46 year old Jeffrey LaDue of Rochester.

Deputies  say Spezio and LaDue were both taken to Strong  Hospital by Mercy Flight for critical injuries.

Spezio died on Saturday from his injuries. 

LaDue is in satisfactory condition .

Deputies are still investigating what caused Spezio to swerve into oncoming traffic.
