Newark Police are investigating a shooting that seriously injured a man early Friday morning.

 It happened around 5am at a house on Silver Hill Road.

 Police say according to other people in the house, someone knocked on the door and when one of the people in the house, a man, when to answer the door, the suspect fired a shotgun through the door.

The man who answered the door suffered serious injuries, but he is expected to survive.

He was taken to Strong Hospital. Police believe the victim may have known his attacker.
