Most of the more than four thousand R G & E customers who lost  power in Webster early Wednesday afternoon are back on line.

Just before 2pm, the utility said  there were 4600 customers without electricity in that town. There also were more than 400 customers without electricity in Irondequoit.

R G and E officials say the outage was  related to a problem with a substation. The utility says just after 4:30 p.m., nearly all customers were back on line.
