Gates Police have released more information about the man they captured after a chase on Friday.

The chase happened on the same day police were looking for a suspect in the shooting death of a 19 year old city man, Montre Bradley, who was shot while waiting in line at a Gates store so that he could buy a special pair of sneakers.

Gates Police say the man they arrested is Travaris Johnson. He now faces reckless endangerment and numerous traffic charges.

Police say they all relate to a pursuit in which Johnson helped a homicide suspect evade arrest.

Authorities say that while Johnson is a suspect in the investigation, he is not believed to be directly involved in the shooting of Bradley.

Police say they remain focused on two specific individuals and the investigation is continuing.
