Authorities are investigating a fatal accident on Canal Street in Rochester.

At about 7:20 a.m. on Tuesday, paramedics were called to that location, off West Main Street, to help out an unconcious person who later died.

Rochester Police say it's a construction site, although the victim was not a construction worker and did not have permission to be there.

Reportedly the man, said to be in his 50s, was trying to obtain scrap metal from the site when he became trapped and crushed inside a large piece of machinery.

His identity has not been released yet.
