The Pentagon is releasing some more details about the death of a local soldier in Afghanistan.

 Officials say that 23 year old PFC. Theodore Glende died on Friday in Logar Province from wounds he suffered when enemy forces attacked his unit with small arms fire.

He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat team in Italy.

  Glende was a graduate of McQuaid High School and  Niagara University. 

Glende was married earlier this year.
