A Horseheads man died in a fatal crash Saturday morning in Yates County.

Sheriff's Deputies report 70 year old Robert Mizener failed to negotiate a curve on Pre-Emption Road in Bellona, shortly before 8:30. Investigators said Mizener struck a guard rail, traveled through a lawn, and struck a tree before his car came to rest in a creek bed.

Mizener was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
