Rochester Police shot and killed a man outside a Locust Street home after a call for domestic problems early Thursday morning.

Police said Israel Andino called 911 that he just stabbed his mother and that he was going to shoot people.

An officer found Andino's mother on the porch of 72 Locust Street around 7:15 a.m.

Carmen Baez told police that her son stabbed her and was walking down the street with a long gun.

Rochester Police said other officers arrived and told Andino to drop the gun.

They talked to him for several minutes and tried using a taser on him.

They said Andino shot at them with a shotgun and they returned fire, killing him.

Baez was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
