(13-WHAM) Rep. Louise Slaughter (D- Fairport) is back in her district, undergoing rehabilitation for a broken leg.
The Congresswoman fell at an event in New York City on Tuesday. As a result, she missed the signing of the STOCK Act against insider trading in Congress, which she helped write.
In a statement released Saturday, Slaughter said, "I am well on the road to recovery and have begun undergoing rehabilitation so that I can continue fighting for the hardworking families of Western New York.”
Her doctor at Strong said there is a good chance Slaughter will be discharged from the hospital within the week.
