It was turn back the clock on Tuesday night with the Pittsburgh Pirates hosting the Cinncinati Reds in the N.L. Wild Card matchup. The Pirates back in the playoffs for the first time in 21 years and what better team to face than the Reds. The two clubs have great postseason history meeting in the 1970, 72, 75, 79 and 1990 postseason.
The crowd at PNC Park was incredible as the fans have waited since 1992 to celebrate a home postseason game. The Pirates are a team that has a rich tradition dating all the back to 1887.
At one the Pirates were a model franchise, but after Barry Bonds left for San Francisco following the 1992 season the team became irrelevant. The club features one of the games best players in Andrew McCutcheon and perhaps the best stadium in all of baseball to watch a game.
The Pirates and Bills have a lot in common. Just imagine how wild of a scene it will be when the Buffalo Bills finally host a playoff game. Can you say electric. As Pirates fans showed us the other nigh your patience will be payed off.
