Not only is Western New York's population not grown over the last decade, but the last decade or so marks the most difficult to be a fan of both the Sabres and Bills.
I can't remember when the Sabres and Bills were both bottom feeders at the same time. The Bills are in the midst of a playoff drought of 13 years with pretty much zero promise to end that streak in 2013.
The Sabres have not won a playoff series in six years. During that time they have missed the postseason three times, with a fourth on the horizon this year.
Buffalo and our region is known for being tough and grinding, but the Sabres resemble a collection of figure skaters rather than hockey players.
The Bills have not finshed above .500 in nine years. They still are searching for Jim Kelly's replacement. There is zero buzz with this franchise, The Bills are a franchise that is insecure about themselves. Overpaying the wrong players.
In closing there is zero respect for either franchise in westerm New York.
