Ryan Fitzpatrick went 20-33 as a starter over four seasons in Buffalo. He was in the midst of a six-year, $59 million contract extension signed in October 2011 before being cut last week.
Now Fitzpatrick has a new home signing a two-year deal with the Tennessee Titans, where he will backup Jake Locker. Locker was the team's first pick in 2011, but has underachieved so far.
Earlier in the day Monday the Titans released qb Matt Hasselbeck. I was hoPing the 37-year old would end up in Buffalo, however the Boston College product ended up with the Indianapolis Colts agreeing o a two-year deal to backup Andrew Luck. Hasslebeck would of been an upgrade over Tarvaris Jackson.
Free agency is two weeks old and the Bills have added one player in linebacker Manny Lawson.
Tonight Montreal will be out to extend its winning streak to six while dealing Buffalo a sixth consecutive road loss in the first of two meetings at the Bell Centre this week. Montreal, which also hosts Buffalo on Saturday, has earned at least one point in 16 of its last 17 games (13-1-3).
Meanwhile the Sabres are 1-3-3 since March 3. Goalie Ryan Miller fell to 0-3-1 with a 3.98 goals-against average over his last four starts. Buffalo is 0-3-2 on the road in March. However, Miller is 7-1-1 with a 1.81 GAA in his last nine starts vs Montreal. Buffalo is sure to drop two in Monteal
And finally, watching the Heat last night rally to beat the Celtics I hope all of us can appreciate what kind of year Lebron James is having as well as appreciate the 23-game winning streak. It’s the second-longest winning streak in NBA history. Only the 1971-72 Lakers and their 33 consecutive is longer.
James led the Heat with 37 points, 12 assists and seven rebounds. It was his 33rd double-double of the season.
Miami visits Cleveland on Wednesday, followed by Detroit, Charlotte and Orlando. Other important dates Wed. March 27th at Chicago, Sunday, March 31 at San Antonio. The team could enter April riding a 30-game winning streaks.
