8 Year Old From Macedon Wows Sabres' Crowd with Anthem

"Before the Buffalo Sabres took the ice Thursday night, an eight-year-old girl from Macedon took center stage.


She wowed the crowd into surprised applause as she belted out two national anthems.

Baylee Morrison performed the Star Spangled Banner and O Canada before Thursday night’s game at the First Niagara Center." - 13 WHAM

Thomas Vanek scored twice in regulation, including the tying tally with 2 seconds left, and added a shootout goal to rally the Buffalo Sabres past the Montreal Canadiens 5-4 on Thursday night.....Jason Pominville also scored in the shootout and Ryan Miller clinched the victory by making a left pad save to stop Brian Gionta on Montreal's final opportunity.

The Buffalo Bills are allowing third-year receiver Donald Jones to enter free agency after deciding not to tender him a contract offer.... General manager Buddy Nix says the team elected to go ``in a different direction'' on Thursday. Nix made the decision to not retain the player's rights now to give Jones a better chance of landing with another team once free agency opens March 12.

He had a career-best 41 catches for 443 yards and four touchdowns in 12 games last season. Jones missed the final three games due to an undisclosed medical condition, which he says shouldn't prevent him from continuing to play.


The New York Giants have re-signed veteran defensive tackle Shaun Rogers.... Rogers missed last season after developing a blood clot in his leg following a preseason game against Jacksonville. He had been signed as a free agent in April....Rogers has played with Detroit, Cleveland and New Orleans
