Aussie DJs Fired Over Suicide Prank

The Australian radio show that may have caused the suicide of a British nurse who passed on a prank call to Kate Middleton has been pulled off the air.

2Day FM's Kyle and Jackie O show was cancelled effective immediately, with station management taking the extra step of banning prank calls from its airwaves and "undertaking a rigorous internal investigation" into the events that led to the suicide of Jacinta Saldanha.

TMZ notes that the show and station have a long history of pranks gone wrong, including one that involved a 911 call leading to a police investigation. Although the station has been repeatedly sanctioned by Australia's version of the FCC, management still signed off on the Kate prank -- which is likely to lead to another investigation.

Dirty 'Pawn Stars' trash campsite, reputation of pawnbroking industry

Hock shop reality TV personalities, "Pawn Stars" Rick and Corey Harrison, have attracted attention by allegedly leaving trash at a desert campsite in Glamis, Calif., over Thanksgiving Day weekend.

Cops say they knew the two were responsible for the mess because they'd spotted the father-son duo on a previous visit to the site. Corey said he and the old man had left early, leaving their trashy buddies to clean up — which they didn't. The cops issued fines of $1,000 per person, saying their waste filled 10 bags. Let's just hope our nation's pawnbrokers can recover from this trashing of their otherwise fine reputations.

Sen. Colbert? South Carolina voters say yes in new poll

If Stuart Smalley can become Sen. Al Franken, why can't America’s most beloved fake pundit go to Washington? When Sen. Jim DeMint, a South Carolina Republican, announced he was leaving office to run the Heritage Foundation, Stephen Colbert (who grew up in the state) lobbied for the job on "The Colbert Report".

It turns out South Carolina voters are open to the idea a new PPP poll found that Palmetto State residents favor Colbert over other contenders, with 20 percent picking him as their top choice. His actual chances? Pretty much zero. The state’s Republican governor (and former "Colbert Report" guest) Nikki Haley responded on Facebook with a message that amounted to "Thanks, but no thanks."
