The Best Time of Day to Do Things

"Real Simple" magazine just released a list of the best times of the day to do nine different things. 

-Get a haircut at 8:00 A.M.  You want to be the first appointment of the day.  That's when your barber or stylist is fresh, and by definition, can't be backed up with other appointments that ran long.

-Return things to stores at 10:00 A.M.  When stores open, they have the best ratio of staff to customers.  It's the best time to get service with the fewest other people in the store getting in the way.

-Take a flight between 11:00 A.M. and 1:00 P.M.  That's when there are the fewest weather delays, and it helps you avoid the airport rush.

-Take a nap between 1:00 P.M. and 2:30 P.M.  That's the time that works best with your body's natural rhythms.  And the nap should last 15 to 20 minutes.  Once you pass 30 minutes you'll feel even groggier when you wake up.

-Clean the house at 4:00 P.M.  That's when your coordination is at its peak and your mood is the best.

-Ask for a raise at 5:00 P.M.  You want to talk to your boss when they're the least rushed and least likely to get distracted, and that's at the end of the day.

-Do cardio between 5:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.M.  In the early evening, your lungs use oxygen efficiently, you're more coordinated, and your muscles are warmed up.  Exercise is also an excellent stress reliever from the day.

-Walk the dog between 8:00 P.M. and 9:00 P.M.  Dogs view walks as their FUN.  Walking your dog at night lets him enjoy the smells and sounds he misses during the day.

-Read something at 10:00 P.M.  With the way your brain is organized, that's when you're most likely to retain information.

No word on whether Obama's signed up for the journey, but if not, that would put serious distance between you and the POTUS if you're still unhappy with the election results.

The Glendale City Council has approved a 20-year, 320-million dollar lease management agreement of Jobing.com Arena with a group led by prospective owner Greg Jamison.

Andy Pettitte and the New York Yankees are nearing agreement on a one-year contract in the range of $10 million to $12 million. Pettitte - who turns 41 in June - retired after the 2010 season and then decided to come back.

MARVI Miller has died at 95, three months after being diagnosed with liver cancer. He won free agency for baseball players in 1975, ushering in an era of multimillion-dollar contracts and
Miller began his 16 ½-year run as union leader in 1966 after leading the United Steel Workers Union. Major League Baseball's revenue has since grown from $50 million in 1967 to $7.5 billion this year.

One-time baseball commissioner Fay Vincent called him the game's most important figure of the last 50 years. Current commissioner and former Brewers owner Bud Selig  said in 2007 that Miller should be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame

Kentucky has hired Florida State defensive coordinator Mark Stoops as the Wildcats' new football coach.

The Big East moved quickly to replace Rutgers and braced for more possible departures, getting Tulane and East Carolina to agree to join the re-invented conference in 2014..

Tulane, in New Orleans, and East Carolina, in Greenville, N.C., will make it six Conference USA schools to join the Big East in the last two years.
