Liquor-injected doughnuts solve two problems at once

We've found Homer Simpson's new favorite food: doughnuts infused with liquor. Vodka custard and doughnuts made with passion-fruit liqueur are now being fried up at Delightful Pastries, a Chicago bakery that typically made these variations during Lent. Their not-very-surprising popularity means that they're now available year round — and for all ages, since the cooking process means that the alcohol is gone before the pastries are served.

The Bills (4-6) snapped a three-game skid and won for only the second time in seven games to stay on the fringe of the AFC playoff hunt.
 
The Bills  defense that entered the game ranked 31st in the NFL in yards allowed and dead last in giving up an average 31.67 points per game, limited the Dolphins to 184 yards and 16 first downs.   jairus yrd intercepted rookie quarterback Ryan Tannehill's pass with a diving catch at Buffalo's 35 with 1:54 left. And Bryan Scott followed a little more than a minute later, jumping in front of Tannehill's pass intended for Davone Bess at midfield...Tannehill finished going 14-of-28 for 141 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions.

leotis mckevlin opened the scoring 90 seconds in by returning a punt 79 yards for a touchdown in a game in which the Bills never trailed.
marcu thigpen scored on a 96-yard kickoff return and Bess scored on a 2-yard touchdown for Miami (4-6), which has lost three straight.

Bills quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick finished 17-of-27 for 168 yards. Spiller also had three catches for 39 yards, while Stevie Johnson had six catches for 79 yards...cj spiller 22-91 yards and 3 catches for 39 yds...

San Francisco 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh has been sent to the hospital for a "minor procedure" after doctors discovered he had an irregular heartbeat.

 New York Jets owner Woody Johnson is disappointed by his team's performance, saying he "didn't sign up for a 3-6 season," and insists he didn't bring in quarterback Tim Tebow  just to sell tickets. Johnson would not comment on the immediate futures of coach Rex Ryan or general manager Mike Tannenbaum

The New York Knicks' fast start is starting to get serious. The 6-0 Knicks remained the NBA's only undefeated team by going on the road and beating San Antonio 104-100 behind Raymond Felton's 25 points...    J.R. Smith added 17 points for the Knicks. Jason Kidd had 14 and Tyson Chandler 13 for the Knicks, who closed on a 22-11 run.

As expected, San Francisco catcher Buster Posey has been named the Most Valuable Player in the National League. He came back from a devastating injury in 2011 to lead the Giants to the World Series.

In the American League, the winner was Detroit slugger Miguel Cabrera. He was baseball's first Triple Crown winner in baseball since 1967 as he hit .333 with 44 home runs and 139 runs batted in. He was listed first on 22 of 28 first place votes. LA's Mike Trout was the runner up, just days after being named winner of the American League Rookie of the Year Award
