NFL cheerleader may shave head for cancer research

When their head coach Chuck Pagano left his job earlier this year to fight leukemia, 30 loyal Indianapolis football players shaved their heads in solidarity. But now, as Pagano continues his battle, another member of the Colts family has hopped on the possible head-shaving train – and if it keeps on track, this supporter is poised to lose quite a few more locks than the boys.

Colts Cheerleader Megan M. says that if the franchise can raise $10,000 for leukemia research by Nov. 25, when the Colts play the Buffalo Bills, she will give her bouncy brunette mane the buzz.

If the World was Ending and You Could Have Sex With One Person, Who Would It Be?

If you believe the misinterpretation of the Mayan calendar, the world is ending next month.  But if the world really WAS going to end, and you could have SEX with just one person . . . who would it be?

In a new survey, 58% of people say they'd want to have sex for the final time with . . . their significant other.  That's sweet.  And most likely a total lie.

22% of people said they'd most want to have sex with a CELEBRITY. 

Women were more likely than men to say they'd want their final sex to be with their significant other, 67% to 49%.  People over 50 were more likely than people 18 to 49 to pick their significant other over a celebrity, 64% to 54%.

Of the men who picked a celebrity, Jennifer Aniston was the top choice.  Megan Fox was second, Scarlett Johansson was third, and Angelina Jolie was fourth.

For women, George Clooney came in first, Channing Tatum was second, and Ryan Gosling was third.

The LPGA Championship is returning to Locust Hill Country Club...LPGA officials made the announcement Tuesday that Wegmans Food Markets would continue to be the title sponsor for the tournament, which returns June 6-9, giving the Rochester area two major tournaments. The PGA Championship will be played at Oak Hill Country Club in August...    The LPGA Championship has been sponsored by Wegmans the past three years.


NFL

Buffalo Bills receiver Stevie Johnson questions why a more experienced player wasn't targeted on the final offensive snap in a loss at New England last weekend....And Johnson says rookie receiver T.J. Graham shouldn't be faulted for running the wrong route that led to quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick having his pass intercepted by Devin McCourty in the end zone with 23 seconds left of a 37-31 loss...Johnson says Graham wound up running a play he had never attempted in practice


The New York Jets have waived linebacker Aaron Maybin, a season after he led the team with six sacks. Maybin was unproductive this year, registering just one tackle without any sacks on a team desperate for a pass rushing presence. He was inactive for the Jets' game at Seattle on Sunday

Pittsburgh quarterback Ben Roethlisberger  has a sprained right shoulder and left Heinz Field with his arm in a sling. His status for Sunday's showdown with AFC North rival Baltimore is uncertain. He was hurt in Monday night's overtime win over Kansas City.

With Jay Cutler's status uncertain, the Chicago Bears have signed veteran backup quarterback Josh McCown.


Carmelo Anthony scored 25 points, and J. R. Smith and Raymond Felton each added 21 as the New York Knicks held off the Orlando Magic 99-89 last night. The victory was the fifth straight for the Knicks, extending their NBA-best start.

 Deron Williams had 26 points and 10 assists, Joe Johnson scored 25 points, and the Brooklyn Nets beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 114-101 for their third straight victory

Danny Green hit the go-ahead 3-pointer with 9.3 seconds left, Tony Parker scored 19 points and the San Antonio Spurs beat Los Angeles 84-82

The Charlotte Bobcats have made a trade, acquiring forward Hakim  Warrick from the New Orleans Hornets for guard Matt Carroll

MICHIGAN STATE upset  seventh-ranked Kansas 67-64

Shabazz Napier scored 13 points and freshman Omar Calhoun added 12 to lead Number 23 Connecticut to a 67-49 win over Vermont last night.

 Mike Black scored on a driving layup with 3.7 seconds left and Albany stunned Washington, rallying from a seven-point second half deficit for a 63-62 win on Tuesday night...the Great Danes (2-1)


COLLEGE FOOTBALL

The Big East will have a West Division, and Temple, located in Philadelphia, will be part of it. The conference announced its divisional alignment for 2013, when it becomes a 12-team football league. The East will have Central Florida, South Florida, Connecticut, Louisville, Cincinnati and Rutgers. The West will have Boise State, Houston, Memphis, San Diego State, SMU and Temple.

A fire sale appears to be ongoing with the last-place Miami Marlins..the Marlins have undergone another payroll purge by trading shortstop Jose Reyes (RAY'-uhs), left-hander Mark Buehrle (BUR'-lee) and right-hander Josh Johnson to the Toronto Blue Jays as part of a blockbuster deal...INEXCHANGE THE MARLINS RECEIVES shortstop Yunel Escobar (yoo-NEHL' EHS'-koh-bar) and several of the Blue Jays' top prospects.

The Chicago Cubs have agreed to a one-year contract with former Minnesota Twins pitcher Scott Baker that guarantees $5.5 million next season

NASCAR

NASCAR has fined Brad Keselowski $25,000 for tweeting during the red-flag in Sunday's Sprint Cup race at Phoenix... NASCAR spokesman Kerry Tharp said drivers had been told after the Daytona 500 that electronic devices could not be carried in their cars, and that includes cell phones.
