I had been doing so well.  I got my flu shot on Christmas eve afternoon.  I have steadfastly tried to avoid other sick people.  I've taken 500 mg of Vitamin C every day.  It had all been going so well...until this weekend.

I finally succumbed to sickness, as a bad cold has entered my life, and I am actually too sick to write.  Right now I have a temperature of just a hair under a hundred and am dealing with the cobwebs in my mind.  The only exciting thing I have wanted to do since Friday is sleep.

Ironically, this timing turned out all right.  You see, my father in law was supposed to come for a visit from Friday til Monday.  It would have been the first time either of my in-laws had made the trek out to the Roc since I married their daughter.  I took the whole weekend off work as vacation days, and amazingly, there wasn't a single Amerks game all weekend.

Of course, you know what happened.  The damn Nemo storm cancelled all flights from Chicago--east until Sunday, so my father in law, got right back on a plane from Chi-town to Denver, and all he got out of the weekend was a free plane ride from Denver to Chicago and back.  Now, I have to do the same thing again, and try to take time off of work on another weekend.  Hopefully, the bosses will be understanding.

Anyways, as I said, the timing was ok though, because feeling as crappy as we are (my wife has the same cold), we would have had to suck it up and entertain dad if he was able to make it here, so maybe all worked out as it should have.

So, with my temperature climbling over 100 just since I started writing this, I am going to go back to bed....again.  Please keep checking back.  I will start writing about sports again soon, I hope.
